Caring for Kids, A Grand Success

Caring for Kids 2017

Caring for Kids 2017 was a grand success! Thanks to the generosity of our members, our staff, our partners and community members, Canyon State Credit Union delivered over 200,000 diapers during KTAR’s Mac & Gaydos’ annual Caring for Kids event benefiting Child Crisis Arizona and Arizona Helping Hands.

The generosity was abundant from the kick-off bowl-a-thon to branch donations to the grand finale with the KTAR live broadcast. Hearts were filled with diapers, toys, clothing, hygiene products, plus over $10,000 in cash/check donations collected on site.to help foster families have a joyful holiday.

KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Mac & Gaydos were live at the Kohl’s in Glendale and their morning team, Jayme West and Jim Sharpe, helped collect donations at the Kohl’s in Scottsdale.

Canyon State Credit Union CEO Jane Dobbs told Mac & Gaydos the organization collected 50,000 more diapers than last year.

“At the end of the day, we are really serving the community and the children,” Dobbs said. “And these children are going to grow up and be the people who are going to lead this country and we want to make sure we are providing for them in a way that helps build their futures.”

Child Crisis Arizona provides hope and services to vulnerable children and families. Child Crisis Arizona operates the only emergency shelters for children in the Valley, is a leading resource to license, train and support foster and adoptive families and provides early childhood education through a preschool, parenting classes, workshops and playgroups.
